Burt’s Bees Hits and Misses for Medium to Deep Skin Tones

Burt's Bees First Impressions

Hello beautiful people!

Body lotion, lip crayons, eye mask, oh my!

I wish you the happiest of Friday’s, I hope you enjoyed a fabulous three day weekend and got some sun. I made a new video finally on Youtube of my first impression on Burt’s Bees beauty. I have used their chapstick in the past but never their full line of products. I do love a good Vegan Beauty product as you can see in my Best Vegan Mascara post here.

Burt’s Bees is a great brand with the philosophy, “What you put on your body should be made from the best nature has to offer”. This is something we should all get behind! The fact that you can recognize the ingredients in most of the products, unlike most brands that require you to have a chemistry degree in order to decipher their ingredients list.

The jobaja eye mask were incredibly hydrating and I used the additional oil on my neck. The hand cream has a delightful almond scent like Jergan’s cherry almond scent. It is incredibly hydrating and not greasy. No worries of leaving an oily residue on your clothing or furniture.

Misses

The guava shimmer stick seen below. The color completely washes me out and is very 2000s. I will definitely pass it on to a much fairer friend with pink undertones. The eye shadow is not super pigmented and I had trouble getting a nice swatch out of it. I think it is perfect if you are looking for a subtle no makeup/makeup look. If you like a shimmer or strong look this is not the one.

Way to frosty and pale for my liking

Hit’s

This gorgeous Bordeaux lip crayon! This color is so rich after one swipe! It’s the perfect shade for fall and I will wear it well into the holiday season. It wipes off clean and easily if you want to change up your lip color.

  1. I’ve tried this brand before, I love the bee products and they just smell really nice. Their night cream is wonderful ❤

  2. It is so weird but I am allergic to something in Burts Bees products I tried both a lip balm and hand cream and in both cases my lips and hands peeled. But I have really bad allergies so I guess it kind of makes sense as there must be pollen in it I imagine. But they do make great products to be sure.

    1. Oh no! There could be, it’s definitely best to stay away then! I will say Thrive cosmetics and Hourglass also have great products and are vegan brands so that may be worth a try for you!
